Privacy Policy — Bono

This Privacy Policy describes how the Bono mobile application ("Bono", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, profile photo, role (guide or restaurant), languages, city — provided by you during sign-up via Clerk authentication.
- Tour offers and responses: information you submit when creating offers (date, time, payment, location, description) or responding to offers.
- Chat content: text messages and photos you send to other users through in-app chat.
- Reviews and ratings: ratings and comments you leave for guides after completed tours.
- Device data: Expo push notification token and basic device platform information used to deliver notifications.
- Location: approximate or precise device location, only when you grant permission, used to display nearby offers and to set the location on offers you create.
- Camera and photo library: accessed only when you choose to attach a photo to your profile or to a chat message. Photos are uploaded to our object storage and shown to the other chat participant.
2. How we use information
- To operate the core features of the app (offers, chats, reviews, profiles).
- To send push notifications about new offers, chat messages, accepted/declined responses, new reviews, and tour reminders.
- To prevent abuse and enforce our rules (e.g. limits on the number of offers).
3. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal data. Information you submit to other users (offers, responses, chat messages, reviews, profile) is visible to those users as required for the service to function. We use the following processors:
- Clerk — authentication and identity management.
- Replit — hosting of the API server and database.
- Expo (expo.dev) — delivery of push notifications.
4. Data retention
Account data is retained while your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below.
5. Children
Bono is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data by editing your profile in the app or by contacting us. You may also revoke camera, photo library, location, and notification permissions in your device settings at any time.
7. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes.
